This short workshop is suitable for just about everybody living in the 21st Century. Whether you are a Director, Senior Manager, Line Manager, Supervisor, Worker, or Employee, you can be harmed by stress.
Stress is our natural response to any demand or threat and if we perceive a threat, even if it is imagined, then the stress response kicks into play. In prehistoric times the natural biological stress response was much more useful to our ancestors than what it is for us now. We have heard a lot about the fight or flight response. In days gone by, we may have been subjected to meeting up with wild animals that wanted to eat us. We could either stand there and be dinner, fight like mad, or run like the wind. The stress response went into the alarm stage and then prepared us for the ordeal. The resistance stage gave us extra physical power to speed us up or to fight like Tyson Fury. The thing is, when the threat or danger was over and we were back in the cave, we had an opportunity to unwind and go back to normal.
But in today’s world if we are sitting in a traffic jam, anxious about a task we dread, are being singled out for unfair treatment, or have just not enough time in the day to get everything done, fighting or running away is not an option. However, the same biological stress response happens every time and it is killing us.
In order to be able to channel our positive stress and to reduce the risks associated with chronic, long lasting or repetitive stress response, it is vital to fully understand what happens to us when the stress response is triggered. This workshop will help you understand this in an individual way, so everything you learn, you can apply to yourself so that it is subjective to you. The workshop will be fun, interesting, interactive, exhilarating, motivational and will end with a little relaxation. How does that sound?
