If I had to describe Jim King's knowledge on health and safety in one word, that word would be 'inspiring' Jim has recently retired from HSENI where he was a Principal Inspector for 28 years. A gas engineer by background, (he also spent 10 years in the gas industry), he led the HSENI's chemical safety team for many years. NPTNI is delighted he has agreed to deliver his specialist training for them.
He led the investigations into the deaths of the Spence family and the Castlerock carbon monoxide poisonings and the public safety campaigns which followed these tragedies.
Before retiring he started a campaign to reduce fatalities and other injuries in the waste industry. This coincided with a request from the waste industry for a forum to tackle the problems in waste. He is a founder member of WISHNI and on retirement of the first Chairman, Professor Alan Woodside, Jim took over as Chair.
When not representing WISHNI, he currently uses his expertise to train companies and individuals in health and safety or walks his collie dog in the Mourne Mountains.
Employers and employees have legal duties with regards to safety at work and Jim King has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share. Here is a sample of courses we can arrange for Jim to deliver for your organisation:
Health and safety should be led from the top of organisations. Ensuring that senior managers fully understand everyone's role in protecting themselves and others from harm at work, and then training everyone to be able to work safely and protect themselves and others will go a long way to reducing accidents and instances of work related ill-health. Please feel free to get in touch to ask for further information, we would love to hear from you.
